United Nations HRC Social Forum
The United Nations Human Rights Council Social Forum provides a unique space for dialogue and reflection on critical human rights topics. Each year, this forum brings together state actors, international organizations, academic institutions, and civil society to discuss emerging challenges and innovative solutions. It stands out for its inclusive approach, giving a voice to marginalized groups and bridging public policies, local experiences, and universal aspirations for human rights.
In recent editions, the Social Forum has addressed diverse themes highlighting the connections between global challenges and human rights. Key discussions have often focused on the impact of economic, social, and environmental crises on the most vulnerable populations. These collective reflections emphasize the importance of placing human rights at the core of public policies and international frameworks while promoting sustainable and inclusive solutions.
By participating in this international dialogue space, IOPDHR reaffirms its commitment to social justice and universal rights. We firmly believe that sustainable and inclusive solutions can be developed through strengthened international cooperation and collective will. Through contributions like this, we work to build a future where the dignity and fundamental rights of every individual are respected and protected, without distinction or exclusion.

Forum Social 2024

World Social Forum 2023
The International Observatory for Peace, Democracy, and Human Rights (IOPDHR) had the honor of participating in the 2023 Social Forum, held on November 2 and 3 in Room XX of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, as well as online. This event brought together participants from various backgrounds to discuss key topics related to human rights, science, technology, and innovation.
IOPDHR played an active role in these discussions, guided by the principles established by Human Rights Council Resolution 50/22. This resolution emphasizes the vital contribution of science, technology, and innovation to the promotion and protection of human rights. In particular, it highlights the role of these fields in the post-pandemic recovery context, where digital transformation and technological advancements present new opportunities while also posing challenges related to equitable access, social justice, and the respect of fundamental rights.
